I'm THEM

Hello Everyone!
This week was so bizarre. We moved this week!  Last Monday around 3pm we called the APs because we had a bunch of people asking us if we were moving or not and we just kept telling them "well we haven't heard anything so I guess not right now" but it was getting kinda weird so we called.... and that is when they said "oh yeah you’re moving tomorrow... didn't anyone tell you?" *face palm. So yeah it was crazy but after a couple of really stressful days, we are here now and moved in and everything is Bueno!

This week I realized something that made me so very happy. For all of my friends in Arkansas you probably remember that I was always out with the Sister missionaries while I was waiting for my papers, specifically Sister Wamsley and Sister Hansen. They prepared me, helped me, supported me, and everything in between. I loved those girls and before I left and quite a few times during my mission, I've prayed that I would be able to have the same influence on another girl. So for the past couple weeks, we have been taking this girl named Abby (haha so funny) out with us on visits and she's preparing to go on a mission. She told us this week some of her concerns with going on a mission and it was amazing because I had all her same concerns to a T and was able to help her with everything. It was at this moment that I realized my prayers were being answered and I was becoming like my dear sister missionaries. It is so cool how Heavenly Father answers even our little prayers.

I know that our Father in Heaven is keenly aware of us and in His own timing will answer our prayers. He loves us and wants us to come to him. We are each one of His precious children.

So this week I accidentally left our keys in the church building so we got locked out. We search all around to see if any doors were unlocked but none were. So we said a prayer and then sister Goodrich found a cracked window. Haha, it was super funny and just another story of God answering our prayers... and making us laugh.

This is a picture I took with Sister Wamsley and Hansen the night I got set apart as a missionary. Another really funny thing about this whole thing is Sister Wamsley was being trained by Sister Hansen when I started working with them and now I'm training Sister Goodrich. It's so cool.

The girl right next to me is Abby. We played that mouth game with this less active family. It was a blast.

Sister Goodrich and the Giant Peach

Hello from the state that brings you "63% of your happiness",
So there is this video floating around telling people to not hate on Idaho because it helps make fries haha it's pretty funny. it makes me laugh but did you know that Idaho does not only have potatoes?!?! Haha, this week we were given bags of apples, bags of peaches, and bags of zucchini (not to mention we past our favorite plum tree a couple times this week). I love all the produce here in Idaho it's pretty amazing.

So this last week was pretty amazing. Does anyone remember my miracle girl Bekka? Well, she got to go to the temple this week which means I got to go to the temple this week. It was so much fun to see her and her glowing face as she got to do temple work for her family. I love that girl and the temple... so it was a pretty bomb day.

We also finished up our new member lessons with Alyeah. She is a sweetheart and it has been so fun for me and Sister Goodrich to teach this funny little girl.

So transfers happened this week which is always fun. Sister Goodrich and I are staying here so I can finish training her and then I'm pretty sure she will train someone new (she is pretty much already a pro at this mission thing). We did get a new District Leader though. Good ol' Elder Bruce. He was my District Leader for two transfers in Meridian so it will be fun to have him again. We are so sad to say goodbye to Elder Newton though. He is an amazing missionary and it was so much fun serving around him.

In other news, the ukulele came back out this week. Sister Robertson and I used to use it all the time for our dinner messages, but I've never used it with Sister Goodrich because she doesn't like to sing. Well, I decided to go solo haha. It's actually so much fun to sing again and families really like it because it's something different.

I hope everyone who is going back to school has amazing weeks. I know that change is scary sometimes but I also know that God perfectly knows what we are going through and if we give all our fears to Him, He will take them and make them into something beautiful.

I love you all

If a picture is worth 1000 words . . .

We got a brand-new car this week! It's super fun to drive ... and also terrifying... cause it’s brand new!

Got to teach a fun object lesson to a little 8-year old that just got baptized. She loved it and we had a lot of fun.

I'm still surviving out here. I love serving God and bringing others closer to Him.
Hope you all have awesome weeks:)

Days are long, but weeks are short, and months even shorter!

What the what?!?!   It's August already!
It's been hitting me so hard this week as I've been telling people that I've been out almost 10 months and they have been saying things like "oh so your almost home" and "you're on your down slope now!" -- time really does go by so fast out here. I remember last year at this time my papers were actually turned in and I was just in agony waiting for my call to be a missionary and now a year later I'm here and most days it doesn't even feel like I'm a real missionary but rather just having a weird dream where I'm in a skirt 24/7 and always talking about Jesus. Haha but really, I’ve just loved my time out here and as the weeks are going by faster and faster, I'm not taking a single moment for granted.

This week I truly fell in love with Kuna. The people are just so ready here and unlike the other places I've served, they are really willing to listen to us. This week we gave out 3 copies of the Book of Mormon and this is kinda weird to say but that is more than I've given out my whole mission. People in my other areas just were really scared to accept a Book of Mormon. They loved pass along cards but the books just scared them. So I'm pretty excited that people are so receptive here.

This Saturday the city had this huge event called Kuna Days. People have been telling us about it since the day we got here and it was definitely as big as they mentioned. Everyone and their grandma was at this thing. It was basically like a big fair and I would describe it as the Minnesota State Fair but in a small area like the Bentonville town square. It was way fun and we got to talk to a lot of people. We were not allowed to proselyte but just being present I think was a good thing.

I saw this really cool church video this week (Sister Goodrich is obsessed with videos and always shows me the ones I haven't seen) so this week it was this one.

We shared it for our dinner message this week and have been challenging families to act on any good thought that comes to their mind even if its seems odd. Sister Goodrich and I have been trying to do that this week and it’s really cool. So watch this video and then take the challenge we have been giving out. I promise you will see amazing things.

Love,
Sister Aase
